“You are the mirror of health!” An old saying we know and use, perhaps without realizing how accurate those words are.
Our skin is the largest organ of the body – it also happens to be the one we can see (unlike our other, smaller organs), so it stands to reason that by observing the skin, can tell us a lot about the condition of our body, health, and vitality.
We already know, and accept, that the skin tells us when we are dehydrated; when our hormones are unbalanced; when we have nutritional deficiencies; toxic or allergic reactions, and so on. Analyzing and observing the skin and specific areas of the face, called zones, is an ancient form of diagnosis used by Eastern cultures. Now the practice ‘face mapping’ (analyzing the zones of the face to diagnose health issues) is widely accepted in Western cultures.
The above chart illustrates some of what your skincare professional can learn about your health by closely observing specific areas of the face. Data from Vitablog.com.
