Sexy Body Scrub Recipe
Nothing says romance like dark chocolate, strawberries and champagne. Why not treat yourself (and someone special) to this luxurious Champagne, Chocolate, Strawberry & Salt Scrub. Not only do we believe that this will put a spark in your romance, we know it will do your body and whole lot of good too – here’s why:
Champagne grapes are high in antioxidants that fight inflammation and are effective at preventing wrinkles from the inside and outside (drinking champagne has the same antioxidant benefits as it does when you apply it topically). In addition, the bubbling action of champagne promotes micro-circulation on the skin – like a tiny massage action – leaving it glowing, clear and healthy.
Dark Chocolate relaxes the blood vessels which boosts blood circulation and reduces stress. Stress is one of the skin’s worst enemies – it depletes the body of vitamins and minerals, causing the breakdown of collagen. When we lose collagen, the skin thins and becomes dry – resulting in the formation of wrinkles. The antioxidants in dark chocolate fight free radicals, protects the skin from UV damage and increases blood flow. These antioxidants also improve hydration and thickness of the skin, resulting in fewer wrinkles and a youthful glow.
Strawberries are rich in Vitamin C, an essential nutrient for collagen production (a fibrous protein that keeps the skin firm). Vitamin C also helps prevent wrinkles and dryness and has the ability to eliminate free radicals from UV rays.
Salt is an excellent exfoliator to remove dead skin cells and polish dull, dry skin. Pink Himalayan Salt (for this recipe) has 84 trace minerals to nourish the body, eliminate toxins and bring skin back to pH balance. This mineral-rich salt can also assist in relieving extremely dry skin, rashes and psoriasis.
This recipe is best used immediately after gently blending the following ingredients so your skin benefits from the bubbles in the champagne. Prepare first 3 ingredients ahead, then add the Champagne at the end – blend gently to preserve the bubbles.
- ¼ cup Fresh Strawberries (crushed or puréed)
- 3 Tbs. Dark Powdered Chocolate
- 6 Tbs. Pink Himalayan Salt (Finely ground)
- ½ Cup Champagne
Apply scrub mixture to the body and gently massage on back, chest area, arms and legs. Remove scrub in a warm shower. You might consider finishing with a chocolate facial – get the recipe here – it’s a favorite of our readers.
