Dry Skin Recipes
- 1 pumpkin wedge (to make 1 cup of shredded pumpkin)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
Peel and shred pumpkin. In small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water, pumpkin and salt to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the pumpkin is soft. Drain. Use a blender to puree the mixture until creamy. Cool before gently washing the face in the evening. Rise with warm water.
Why this works: Pumpkins are high in mineral zinc, which is a mild astringent that tightens body tissue. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.

Cranberry Apple Mask
- 5 tablespoons fresh cranberries
- 1 red apple, unpeeled
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
- 1 cup water
In a small saucepan bring water and cranberries to boil for 5 minutes. Mash the cranberries and allow them to cool. Shred the apple using a grater. Mix the fruits together and add the flaxseed oil to bind the mixture.
Apply a thick layer of the mixture to the face and relax for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then apply a moisturizer.
Why this works: The dark red cranberries are rich in antioxidants. The mild acidic quality of the fruits work to gently exfoliate the skin, leaving it soft and smooth.
Avocado Eye Cream
- 1 teaspoon avocado
- ½ teaspoon sour cream
In a small bowl, mash the avocado with a fork. Blend in the sour cream and mix well. Massage this gently around the eye area every morning and evening.
Why this works: Avocados contain more protein than any other fruit – the natural oils also offer hydration. The sour cream will help to lighten dark circles and even out the skin tone around the eyes.
